Courses available:
1. First Steps Pistol (NRA course)
- The purpose of this course is to provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a pistol safely.
- Length:- Minimum of 3 hours
- Cost: $80 depending on range fees
2. Basic Pistol Shooting Course (NRA Course)
- The purpose of this course is course is to learn the basc knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This course is more advancd than the First Steps course.
- Length: 10 hours minimum
- Cost: $120 depending on range fees
**We also offer a Basic Handgun Fundamentals Course that is not the NRA model of Instruction. This course is $80 depending on the range fees. The difference in this course is overall course content (much higher than NRA) and more range time.
3. Carry Concealed Handgun (CCH)
- The purpose of this course is to teach the basic shooting and legal skills needed to obtain a carry concealed handgun permit in North Carolina.
- Length: 10 hours minimum
- Cost: $120 depending on range fees
4. Retired Law Enforcement Officer Qualification Program
- This course is also known as HR218 National Carry. The purpose is to have retired officers in compliance with NC rules for HR218 carry.
- Length: 4 - 5 Hours
- Cost $100 ($60 to instructor, $40 to range)

Private shooting lessons are available. Please contact us for available times. The instructor rates are $60 a lesson and you are responsible for all ammunition, range fees, and targets. Most lessons last from 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Special: 25% discount for Private Classes if you attend either the Basic or CCH training with Harrington Shooting Sports. The class price is $45 after the discount.
- I found David's instruction to be very course related. Not only going over the required material, but expanding the concept of what it means to carry a concealed hand gun. From holster selection, scenario concepts, low light shooting and target acquisition to name a few. He gave practical instruction on the over all responsibility and ideas of carrying a concealed hand gun and left you with the idea that it is more then a permit in your pocket and gun on your hip.
- Great instruction from an experienced law enforcement officer! I took the CCH course and found it to be very informative - not only regarding the legal issues of concealed carry, but in other areas such as stance, trigger control, and situational shooting where David went beyond what was required for the course so we were better trained. He also gave us a considerable amount of information on exercises and drills that can be performed "off-range" to increase accuracy (most of which cost almost nothing). Highly recommended!
Carry Concealed Handgun:
Please note this is at least a 10 hour day. The class starts at 9:00 AM and is usually over by 7:00 PM (unless otherwise noted). This course also involves a written examination and timed qualification course. If you are a new shooter please consider taking a Basic Fundamentals course and practicing prior to attending the CCH course. All classes are currently taught at Firepower Inc. in Matthews, NC.
These classes are typically taught the 4th Saturday of the month unless noted otherwise below.

Basic Handgun Fundamentals:
This course is for the new shooter. Training is for both Revolvers and Semi-auto Pistols. This course begins at 6:00 PM and is usually over by 11:00PM (unless otherwise noted). This course is currently taught at Firepower Inc. in Matthews, NC.
These classes are taught on Sunday afternoon from Noon - 5:30 PM.

Retired Officer Qualification Program
Beginning in March 2010 this course will be taught on Friday evening for 3 hours and qualification times will be scheduled on the range the next two Saturday mornings. Students will be able to sign up for range times (qualification will take approximately 45 minutes).
June 4 (classroom), June 5 (Qualification), 2010 (1800-2100)
CCH and Basic Fundamentals are scheduled at Firepower.
Retired Officers and Private Lessons are scheduled with Harrington Shooting Sports.
